Avic Hd3 Firmware Update
Apr 15, 2014 Pioneer Avic HD3 after Hdd Update 2. Pioneer CNDV-110MT Navigation Upgrade Disc AVIC D2 D3 N1 N3 N4 N5 GPS update. Pioneer F900BT firmware.
The Good The AVIC 8000NEX takes an 'everything but the kitchen sink' approach to infotainment, supporting CarPlay, Pioneer App Mode and Mirrorlink smartphone mirroring technologies. The onboard navigation software is smartly designed and performs well.
Software Pembagi Jaringan Wifi Terbaik. The list of supported digital and analog audio and video sources is impressive. The Bad For some users, the 8000NEX may be too much receiver, making the lower-tier NEX models a better fit for their needs and their wallets. The Bottom Line Pioneer's flagship AVIC 8000NEX boasts dozens of media and navigation options -- including the first aftermarket appearance of Apple CarPlay -- but most users will find a better feature-to-cost balance lower in the brand's NEX lineup. Though announced way back in March 2014, Apple's CarPlay software has remained elusive.
With the exception of the Ferrari FF, the partnered automakers are still in the 'coming soon' phase of their rollouts, and the aftermarket has remained mostly silent. Mostly, that is, with the exception of Pioneer, who announced this summer that it would be bringing Apple CarPlay to the masses via its NEX series of multimedia receivers. Today, we take a look at the Pioneer's flagship AVIC 8000NEX, a fully featured navigation and multimedia receiver that is, so far, the only way to get CarPlay in your car short of buying a new Ferrari.
The AVIC 8000NEX is built around a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. Antuan Goodwin/CNET AVIC hardware, NEX software The AVIC user interface starts with a 7-inch capacitive touch display, where the driver and passengers will have most of their interactions with the system. The screen runs at a WVGA (800x480) resolution -- which sounds low in a world filled with 720p and 1080p smartphones, but isn't bad at all in practice. Graphics for the various parts of the NEX and CarPlay interfaces are rendered smoothly and sharply, but DVD video was just a bit pixelated. Since I don't spend a lot of time watching movies in the car, this wasn't a huge disappointment for me. Just below the screen is a chin that juts slightly forward, presenting buttons for volume, skip, mode selection, home, maps, and eject. Tapping the eject button causes the motorized display to rotate down, revealing the 8000's hidden CD/DVD slot and SD card reader.
Like all of Pioneer's multimedia and navigation receivers, the AVIC 8000NEX is scaled to meet the double-DIN size standard and uses standard wiring harness and AM/FM/HD Radio antenna connections. This makes installation a breeze for experienced installers. I was able to get our unit up and running in our 2007 Chevrolet Aveo test car in under an hour. Aside from the standard power and speaker connections, the 8000 will require a few more included accessories and sensors to be connected to enable the full functionality.
In the box is a GPS receiver that can be installed outside of the cabin for maximum location sensitivity, a noise-cancelling microphone that is used with voice command and hands-free calling, USB and auxiliary input extension cables, and a parking brake grounding sensor that enables the receiver to unlock video content and display when parked. The NEX line is the first to the aftermarket to support Apple CarPlay. Antuan Goodwin/CNET The AVIC 8000NEX's back panel is packed with inputs and connections, making it easily expandable and upgradable. There are actually two full speed 1.6A USB ports back there -- though only one extension cable ships with the unit, enabling multiple portable media and storage devices to be connected or up to two smartphones charged. An HDMI input comes into play when connecting external video sources or, with the aid of adapters sold separately, the receiver's the App Mode.
There are three pairs of RCA preamp outputs including a dedicated subwoofer output, a set of A/V RCA outputs dedicated to rear video, a video input for a rear camera, and ports to accommodate steering-wheel controls and the addition of Sirius XM satellite radio. The first Apple CarPlay receiver No doubt, most of you are here because of Pioneer's claim that the NEX series is the first batch of aftermarket receivers to support the new Apple CarPlay interface for iPhones. As opposed to Pioneer's own App Mode, which required additional hardware, all that you'll need to get running with CarPlay is the latest version of Pioneer's NEX firmware, an iPhone 5 or 6 running the latest version of iOS 8 and a USB to Lightning adapter. (You can buy one from Pioneer, use the one that came with your phone, or pick up a third-party cable.) Simply plug the phone into the the USB port and, after a few seconds, the CarPlay interface will appear. In Apple lingo, it's 'magical.'
The CarPlay interface is generated and powered by the connected iPhone. Antuan Goodwin/CNET The CarPlay interface, which is totally generated and powered by the connected iPhone, is simpler than the standard NEX. The CarPlay homescreen has shortcuts to Apple Maps, voice calls, text messages, iTunes Music and Podcasts. There's also a shortcut to return to the NEX interface if you wish. CarPlay makes heavy use of Apple's Siri voice-command system to minimize the amount of screen tapping and swiping you'll need to do. For example, incoming text messages are automatically read aloud without displaying any words on the screen to distract the driver. After reading, Siri will ask if you want to respond, which you can do without ever looking at the screen or taking your hands off of the steering wheel.
Pretty much any voice command that you can give to Siri on your phone can be given to CarPlay. You can 'navigate to AMC Theater in Emeryville,' 'listen to 2 Live Crew,' or 'remind me to send my expense report when I get to the office,' all in just the time it takes to say it.
The Gracenote database allows your Pioneer Hard Disk Navigation unit to identify album, song, and artist names. Updates to this database are released periodically, and can be updated by downloading and installing this latest update Attention: If you own the AVIC-HD3-II (with a version lower than 3.100.400), you will first need to update your system before the Gracenote database update below can be applied. To download the files and install the update, follow the instructions below: 1. Download the Update If your browser does not automatically start the download process, be sure that your browser or security software is set to allow downloading of files from this web site. You can also right-click the file name and select “Save As” to start the download process. Decompress the files Once you have downloaded the file to your computer, locate the file on your hard disk drive and double click the file to decompress it. (If you do not have a decompression utility installed on your computer, you can easily download one for free.) 3.
Create the Update Disc Burn all of the decompressed files to a recordable CD-R or CD-RW using a CD burning program (DVDs should not be used). The decompressed files should include: • DISCINFO.txt • ECDDB.IDX • ECDDB.INF • ECDDB.MDT • ECDDB.UDT • ECDDB.UDX All of these files must be copied to the root of the CD and should not be copied into any folders. Please note that the CD you record must be in one of the following formats using Mode 1: ISO9660 level1/level2, Joliet, or Romeo.
Note: Discs created with the built-in Windows XP CD burning software cannot be read by the AVIC-HD1BT. You must use a third-party CD burning program to create the disc in a CD-ROM Mode 1 format. Update your AVIC-HD1BT, AVIC-HD3BT or AVIC-HD3-II Update the firmware using the CD-R or CD-RW disc containing the firmware file. Perform the update following the procedure given in the update instructions. Note: Do not turn off or disconnect power, or remove a disc while update is in progress.
If you own the AVIC-HD3-II (with a version lower than 3.100.400), you will first need to download the AVICHD3-II Application Update and update the system before installing the Gracenote database update.
I have been trying to find the solution for the firmware update for AVIC-Z1 & Z2 for a while, because my AVIC-Z2 was victim of that upgrade failure problem for a while and it was a costly paper weight. I was loosing hope and nothing was working because i never left the CD in the navigation. The solution follows. I called pioneer and they wanted me to send them the Navigation ( Don;t send the navigation to Pioneer). Leave the CD ( firmware update) in the Navigation. Don;t use your car for a day or two if possible.
Update will run again automatically during startup and problem with be solved. IT IS SIMPLE IS THAT. HOW to Burn the CD. You need CD-R (not Rewitable or DVD) just plain CD-R. I used NERO to burn the firmware.
Nothing special just like regular DATA CD burn process. Guys i repeat don;t send the Navigation to Pioneer. You will waste time and money. LEAVE the CD in the Navigation, don;t loose hope it might take a whole week, but it will work eventually.
But you got to leave the CD in the Navigation, i repeat leave the CD in the navigation, don't take it out. It can solve the problem any time, while you are driving or in the morning or evening when you are starting your car. Trust me This Firmware Update solved big problems. My Navigation was used to get freeze at the startup all the time.
Mostly on the startup screen, run this firmware and problem will go away. Now it is just like perfect, no HEAT issue nothing. ' What firmware does actually it lower the speed of the Processor so it will generate less heat at startup ' I hope this will answer most of the people facing this problem. If you don't want to wait, this worked for me: 1.
Press the RESET and EJECT buttons simultaneously while +Battery, ACC ON. Release only the RESET button. Release the EJECT button when the password input screen is displayed. Input the password. Input the password from the keys in the order of [P.LIST up]→[P.LIST up]→[P.LIST down]→[P.LIST down]→[TRFC(TA/NEWS)] 5. Test mode menu will be displayed when the password matches. Use TRACK RIGHT to get to Page 3.
Use P.LIST to highlight option '10. Program forced write', then press T to select.
Select PLATFORM to force re-flashing the PLATFORM. I successfully did the firmware update on my early Z1, sort of.
It did solve the lock up issues, but it always thought the car was in motion, and I couldn't enter addresses or do anything but use previous destinations and address book. I did the later bypass and that still didn't work.
I needed to get the car back together for a car show, so I just went out and bought a Z3. Used all the original wiring and swapped it out, and the new one works perfectly now, so it wasnt a problem wiring in the new bypass.
Anyone need a Z1 to play with? All the new wiring from the Z3 box available too, as I used my original wiring. K.ive had my z2 for almost 2 years now.its been workin great.only thing ive done to it was bypass it which only works when i press reset then map.well last week i was driving using the navi for directions and next thing u know everything went blank and its been frozen since.it would sometimes boot up but not for long.my question is 1) do i need to update the firmware and 2) if i do use that master reset with the reset/eject simultaneously would i lose all of my music ive loaded?? The most important thing to me are the saved songs.is there a way to fix this freezing problem without losing all of my saved data?????? If you don't want to wait, this worked for me: 1. Press the RESET and EJECT buttons simultaneously while +Battery, ACC ON. Release only the RESET button.
Release the EJECT button when the password input screen is displayed. Input the password. I had to do this tonight, because I had the same freezing issue with my Z2 that had increased in severity over the last couple of days (and it's not been hot at all around here, nor has it been that cold). I applied the firmware this morning, but after downloading all the files, I had the looping reset issue.
I followed the instructions above (and thanks much to GnatGoSplat!), but would like to make a couple of additional notes: 3. The 'password input screen' is a screen that says, 'PRESS RESET OR RESTART ENGINE'. At this point, enter the password in step 4, and the test mode menu will appear. Page 2 has the menu item you're looking for (PROGRAM FORCED WRITE). Page 3 has only one menu item. Once you select PLATFORM, you have three choices: USB, DISK, and HDD.
Select DISK, then press V to execute the forced write. When you see the Success message, press the MENU button 5 times to reset the unit. Your unit should reboot and bring up the splash screen. I seriously need help! First of all, thank you for your previous postings, i was goning mad with the freezing issue and the official help from pioneer really is very 'limited' I do have the European version of the Z2, the HD3.
For the HD3 no fix for the freezing issue can be found on the net, but I found out on the internet, that the Z2 update can be used ( e.g.: ). I did the update, but now i am stuck in the 'update failded, rebooting' loop. I disconnected the unit for 36 hours. Did not help. Then I found this posting and was happy. But I cannot get into the test mode. I start the device (Firware cd inserted), it says starting.
And then it says Updating. So during this i press RESET (the small button that can only be pressed with somethink like a needle) and EJECT. The screen goes blank, as long as reset is pressed.
Then i only release Reset ->unit starts, but again goes into the loop, no testmode or password menu is displayed. What am I missing? Hi, We can close this. I really was too stupid. Instead of pressing the actuak Eject Button (inside, with open front) i pressed the one outside, which opens the front.
Just when i figured that out and went to the car to try again the update worked, without the need to go to test mode - miracles happen. By the way, on my HD3 the update worked fine, all languages (in my case German) are still there and the Radio and Traffic information (RDS and TMC whoch are different in the Z2) are still working fine. Freezing is also gone, as far as I have seen. Thanks to this forum! Hi, I noticed you had a problem with your AVIC-HD3. I've been searching this forum for a solution to a similar problem - mine is freezing quite regularly at the Pioneer Start Screen and I have considered replacing the hard disk.
I will need to image the disk to transfer the contents, but I did not realise there was a firmware update available because I cannot find one on the Pioneer site. I wonder whether you can tell me how I can find one. Since I'[m in teh UK I've searched the local site as well as others, but clearly need to make sure I get the correct one. Many thanks, David •. Your unit should reboot and bring up the splash screen.so i burned myself a disc for the firmware update as described here.been waiting for the disc to just start updating.then i tried going into the program forced write i was able to execute the steps as instructed.but at the end of the re-flashing got the success message.pushed the menu button 5 times.but instead of getting my Z2 to reboot it tells me to push reset or restart engine anybody have a solution or explanation why i keep coming back to this screen after several successful re-flashes? I wouldnt have bothered with the firmware update coz i have not been having any issues with my Z2, but i got a cndv 800hd and it says that i need to do so before i can update my maps •.
